The long shipping tradition of the Sibum family |
||
The beginnings of the shipping location at Haren (Ems) started during the 15th century. To this time, one used the favorable location at the river Ems and started a new acquisition source with river shipping. Simple freight boats (Emspuenten) under the ownership of shippers from Haren (Ems) delivered goods to the farmers, workmen and dealers in this area. They also established a link between the North Sea coast and the central part of Germany. |
